Working Group Status Update

Devarapalli, Vijay
Hello folks,

Here is a brief update on the WG status.

MIH Related documents
---------------------

draft-ietf-mipshop-mstp-solution that describes the framework for
discovering MIH servers and transport of MIH information was recently
approved and is in the RFC editor queue

draft-ietf-mipshop-mos-dns-discovery that describes extensions to DNS to
discover MIH servers is still under AD review. There is an open issue on
the use of S-NAPTR vs NAPTR records.

draft-ietf-mipshop-mos-dhcp-options that describes extensions to DHCP to
discover MIH servers is also under AD review. There was an issue raised
by the DHC WG on the encoding used for conveying the FQDN as well as the
IP address of the MIH server in the same option. A new version of the
draft was published recently that describes two different DHCPv4 options
for conveying the FQDN and the IP address of the MIH server.

Fast Handovers
--------------

draft-ietf-mipshop-rfc5268bis - Base FMIPv6 got revised to use Mobility
Header for the HI and HACK messages instead of ICMPv6. A WG last call
has been started for this.

Fast/optimized Handovers for PMIPv6
----------------------------------

draft-ietf-mipshop-pfmipv6 - A stable version exists, but need some more
reviews on this before the document can be sent to the IESG.

draft-ietf-mipshop-transient-bce-pmipv6 - need some more reviews on this
before the document can be sent to the IESG.

Prefix Management for point-to-point links with FMIPv6
------------------------------------------------------

There is no WG document yet for this. draft-xia-mipshop-fmip-ptp-02 has
expired. The authors are revising the individual draft.

FMIPv6 security using the AAA infrastructure
--------------------------------------------

I don't believe this is any interest in this work item any more. I
suggest dropping this from the charter.

Vijay
